In 1994, the Research Office of Component Protection and Substation Integrated Automation of the Electric Power Automation Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry was restructured into a company, that is CYG SUNRI. By virtue of its great scientific research strength, CYG SUNRI independently developed the first-generation domestic substation integrated automation ISA series products in the year of its establishment, and put them into use successfully; In the following year, it launched the BP microcomputer busbar protection system, which filled the gap in the industry. With more than 20 years of experience in the power industry, CYG SUNRI has long maintain the leading position in the field of UHV protection and monitoring in China by virtue of its superiority in technology and services, and has won a number of bids for UHV projects, including: A number of stations of multiple 1000kV UHV demonstration projects, such as "Southeast Shanxi-Nanyang-Jingmen", “Eastward Transmission of Anhui’s Electric Power", "North Zhejiang-Fuzhou", “Mengxi-South Tianjin" and "Yuheng-Weifang".
CYG SUNRI is the first enterprise in the industry to launch in-situ protection products. Its in-situ protection products have been successfully put into trial operation in six substations in Zhejiang, Shanghai and Fujian. Over the four winters and summers, the products have resisted many typhoons. They still operate normally in harsh natural environment and electromagnetic environment, and respond correctly to faults.
In the “PV 630 campaign” of this year (after June 30, 2016, the subsidies for PV power generation projects are decreased, so the PV industry had large-scale construction in the first half of the year), the first phase of the National Advanced Technology PV Demonstration Base in Datong Coal Mining Subsidence Area included 13 PV power stations and 10 PV booster stations, with a total installed capacity of 1GW. CYG SUNRI was responsible for the EPC of secondary equipment of all PV booster stations (eight 110kV stations and two 220kV stations) and nearly half of the PV monitoring tasks in the project. On the premise of ensuring quality and safety, CYG SUNRI ensured successful operation of the 10 booster stations as scheduled.
