On April 14, 2021, the 2020 Headquarters Building Carbon Neutrality Certification Ceremony of CYGSUNRI Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CYGSUNRI) was successfully held in CYGSUNRI Headquarters, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, marking the successful completion of the 2020 Carbon Neutrality Project of CYGSUNRI Headquarters Building.
Project Overview
During the operation of CYGSUNRI Headquarters Building from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, the total carbon emission equivalent generated from fossil fuel combustion emissions, industrial production emissions and net purchase of electricity and heat was 1,538 tons, and the carbon emission data had been verified by Beijing Keji Environmental Technology Development Co., Ltd.. On March 30, 2021, CYGSUNRI wrote off 1,538 tons of Chinese Certified Emission Reduction (CCER, generated from Gonghe 50 MW Grid-connected PV Power Generation Project of Hanergy Hainan Photovoltaic Power Generation Co., Ltd.) to offset 1,538 tons of carbon emission equivalent of CYGSUNRI Headquarters Building in 2020. On April 7, 2021, CYGSUNRI obtained the Certificate of Cancellation of Carbon Emission Reduction and the Certificate of Carbon Neutrality issued by China Emissions Exchange.
Project Characteristics
1. Strict Whole-process Regulation
China Emissions Exchange strictly supervised the whole process of the project, including carbon emission verification and carbon emission reduction cancellation. CYGSUNRI offsets its own carbon emissionsthrough cancelling CCER. China Emissions Exchange ensures the authenticity of carbon emission reduction cancellation and the uniqueness of cancellationpurpose by strictly examining the supporting data of emission reduction source projects, including carbon emission reduction source projects, the time for completing carbon emission reduction cancellation and the serial number of carbon emission reduction cancellation, etc. After passing the examination, it issued the carbon emission reduction cancellation certificate to the enterprise. In addition, China EmissionsExchange also advocates that enterprises should step up their own efforts to reduce emissions and carbon fixation, and realize the diversification of carbon neutrality methods.
2. Public Disclosure of the Whole Project Process
China Emissions Exchange publicly disclosed the core information of CYGSUNRI’s whole process of carbon neutrality. By scanning the QR code on the carbon neutrality certificate with the mobile phone or directly inquiring the carbon neutrality information column on the official website or official WeChat account of China Emission Exchange, the public can directly browse the core information and related certificates such as the verification institution and standard, verification boundary and results, certified emission reduction project source and cancellation serial number of this project. Through public disclosure, China Emissions Exchange has introduced external supervision, realized the traceability and inquiry of carbon neutrality information, which is conducive to promoting the standardized practice of participants in all aspects of carbon neutrality business, and also conducive to enhancing the public's understanding and sense of responsibility for carbon neutral business.
