On November 6, the 750 kV substation in Mulei, Xinjiang (the secondary equipment integration of which was done by CYG SUNRI) was officially put into operation. The problem of new energy transmission in Mulei will be thoroughly solved, and the large-scale development of clean energy will lay a solid foundation for the clean and green development of the autonomous region.
In order to meet that demand of new energy transmission, complete the new energy convergence of the Zhundong-Southern Anhui ±1100 kV UHVDC project, the Mulei 750 kV power transmission and transformation project was commenced on August 20, 2019, with a total investment of 560 million yuan. One new 750 kV substation, two sets of 1500 MVA main transformers, four 750 kV outgoing lines and 10 new towers were built. The total length of the transmission line was 2.1 km. Except for the outgoing lines of the substation, which used double-circuit terminal towers, the rest lines were erected with a single circuit.
After the Mulei 750 kV power transmission and transformation project is put into operation, it will meet the consumption demand of 5.6 million kilowatts of new energy. It will give strong support for the development of wind power, photoelectric enterprises and the energy industry in Mulei County, and meet the power demand of nearby industrial parks. It is of great significance to local economic development. Moreover, the new energy transmission will effectively improve the transmission capacity, operational flexibility, security and stability of the power grid, greatly support the development of new energy enterprises in Mulei, and guarantee the local economic and social development.
As the secondary equipment integrator of the station, CYG SUNRI provided the station with various functional monitoring systems, various types of safe and stable protection equipment, on-line monitoring of lightning arresters, intelligent terminals and other equipment. After the start of the construction of the 750 kV substation in Mulei, Xinjiang, CYG SUNRI carefully organized the project team, rationally arranged production, joint commissioning and on-site commissioning, and coordinated to solve problems found in the project construction in a timely manner. From the arrival to operation of the equipment, the engineering service personnel always stayed at the site to provide all-round support for the project commissioning in a timely and effective manner, and ensure the power grid security.
From January to March, the supply of the upstream suppliers was tight due to the pandemic. CYG SUNRI used its own superior resources to complete the production of hundreds of protective screen cabinets and the quality inspection test of protective equipment in only one month under the condition of tight supply of the upstream suppliers. In the following two months, it completed the joint commissioning of the 750 kV substation in Mulei, Xinjiang and the 750 kV substation in Shanshan. It efficiently cooperated with the maintenance company to complete the factory inspection. From mid-July to the end of August, closed management of the station was implemented due to the severe pandemic in Xinjiang. CYG SUNRI provided full support. It actively coordinated the delivery of materials and other matters, tried every possible means to solve problems of material delivery caused by the pandemic, and effectively ensured the progress of the project. After the equipment arrived at the site, the engineering service personnel of CYG SUNRI stayed at the site for commissioning. They overcame many difficulties such as missing signals, harsh environment, and the impact of the pandemic, and finally completed the commissioning within six months. All equipment were put into operation with zero defect.
In order to save time, engineering service personnel cooked at the site
The weather was very changeable
After the 750 kV power transmission and transformation project in Mulei was put into operation, the 220 kV Laojunmiao West Convergence Station, which is an EPC project of CYG Consulting and Engineering Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of CYG SUNRI), will soon be connected to the 750kV substation in Mulei. It is hoped that the Laojunmiao West Convergence Station can be put into operation as soon as possible!
