CYG SUNRI Contributes to the Successful Grid-connected Operation of CGN’s PV & Energy Storage Project in Yengisar, Xinjiang

In December 26, CGN 20MW PV power generation and 3MW/6MWh energy storage project in Yengisar, Xinjiang (CYG SUNRI was responsible for system integration for the project) was successfully connected to the grid, marking the official operation of the first PV & energy storage pilot project in Xinjiang.

CGN’s PV & energy storage project in Yengisar is one of the first generation-side PV & energy storage pilot projects in Xinjiang jointly approved by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission and Xinjiang Supervision Office of the National Energy Administration. The project is located in CGN’s PV Power Station in Yengisar, Xinjiang, and is Xinjiang’s first generation-side PV & energy storage project that is completed and put into operation. The total capacity of the PV power station is 20MW, and the total capacity of the energy storage power station is 3MW/6MWh. The energy storage power station consists of three 1MW/2MWh energy storage units, each of which comprises three parts: an energy storage battery system, an energy storage bidirectional converter, and a booster system.

After the project is put into operation, it can reduce the amount of wasted PV energy, increase income of the PV power station, provide power auxiliary services for the operation of the local power grid, and make adjustable and controllable new energy power generation possible, thus improving the stability of the power system. The project has important demonstration significance to the construction of a modern energy industry system and promotion of the supply-side reform of regional energy industry in Xinjiang.

As the system integrator of the PV & energy storage project in Yingjisha, CYG SUNRI provided the project with a high-quality integrated energy storage system solution, core equipment independently developed and produced by it such as the energy management system and the PCSs, and integrated equipment such as battery cabin, electrical cabin, transformer and grid connection cabinet.

The energy storage project in Yengisar was "the first to start production" and “the first to be put into operation”. This is attributable to CYG SUNRI’s extensive experience accumulated in the power industry over the years, and the success proves CYG SUNRI's delivery capacity, including pre-sales services, production and after-sales services for the primary and secondary power systems and energy storage systems. From project feasibility study, project approval, determination of design scheme, and overall equipment integration, to equipment deployment on the project site, it took only 45 days. CYG SUNRI set a new record of faster delivery of an fully integrated energy storage system.

Generation-side energy storage is a milestone solution to the dilemma of “wasted PV energy" and "wasted wind energy" in the current clean energy development. The joint operation of energy storage and wind/PV power generation is an important means to improve the flexibility, cost-effectiveness and safety of power systems in the future.

As a leading provider of integrated energy storage solutions in the industry, CYG SUNRI has the superior capabilities of system R&D and integration, refined safety control, and professional services for generation-side energy storage projects. CYG SUNRI has maintained its focus and innovation in the energy field, providing safer and more stable solutions, products and services for the development and innovation of the power industry.
